Lake James Healing Dragons

We are an all female BCS team from Lake James, Nebo, NC. We have been in existence since 2009, got our boat in 2010, and we’re still paddling! We use dragon boating to not only support cancer survivors, but to inspire other members o f the community to paddle mental and physical health and well being. Our vision is to inspire, support and encourage survivors of cancer and to triumph over the disease. We are a 501(c)3 organization, and we have a fall race on Lake James to rise funds for women who cannot afford a mammogram. This year we would love to see you at Lake James on October 1. www.healingdragonsoflakejames.org

Jax Fire Dragons

Located in Jacksonville, FL our current roster boasts 41 members and we are continuing to grow. Most of our membership has been together for several years but we have added many new paddlers. We are a competitive team participating in USDBF, PanAm and GWN sponsored events. Our ‘newer’ paddlers enjoy more local festivals. Our members range in age from 29 to 74, equally divided between the sexes and have fun competing with and against each other at races and practices. Our coaching staff brings many years of experience to the boat as well.

Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club

Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club is a 501(c)(3) that ‘changes lives through paddling’ on Lake Lanier, Georgia. LCKC has kept the 1996 Olympic spirit alive with programs for youth, adults, special olympics paddlers and more! Recently the club was home to 2020(1) Tokyo Olympic Gold Medalist Nevin Harrison, and has been the training ground for many Dragon Boat national team paddlers. Rebuilding due to 2020, the Dragon Boat team racing here today is a mixture of BCS paddlers, a few youth and mostly adults…nothing like we brought to this wonderful event in 2019.
