Through the physical competition of dragonboat racing and the strength of camaraderie, DragonBoat Beaufort aims to provide cancer survivors with a total sense of wellness. DragonBoat Beaufort (DBB) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to directly assist cancer patients who live, work, or receive treatment in Beaufort. I’ve been a member of DBB since 2014 and their drummer since 2015 thanks to the support and encouragement of the Swamp Dragon Team Captain Linda Etchells. Known as Broken Drum to my teammates, I’ve seen the first hand the dedication of those paddling these races and the direct benefit every single donation make.
