Description
One team of twenty paddlers plus a drummer. All participants must be over the age of 50. Registration fee includes use of all equipment (paddles and life vests), two one hour practice sessions, use of dragon boat on the day and one 10×10 tent in the waterfront park. There are two registration options. You can prepay for the entire team up front, or have each team member pay individually.
The dragon boats will be steered by professional steerspersons for practices and on the race day. Each practice session will include lessons from an experienced coach on the best paddling techniques.
Each team will participate in three races, weather permitting. Each race takes place over a 200 yard course set up on the Beaufort River in front of the Henry C Chambers waterfront park.
Registration covers the cost of organizing the event. We ask that each paddler collect donations for our cancer survivor mission.
