As most of you know I lost my dad to cancer 2 years ago. I don’t think there is one of us that has not been affected by cancer of a loved one. Dragon Boat Beaufort is raising funds for cancer patients who live, work, or receive cancer treatment in Beaufort county. They help cancer patients deal with the realistic monthly demands of keeping the lights on, keeping the fridge supplied with nutritious food, or keeping gas in the car to get to treatment. They are a fund of the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Dragon Boat Beaufort was born out of the inspiring story portrayed in the documentary Awaken the Dragon.
